About the role

As a CTO in the real estate sector, you will be responsible for establishing and executing a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with our business goals and supports our growth plans. You will supervise all technical aspects of the company, accelerate digital innovation within the organization and lead the growth of the company’s technical staff long term. You will guide technological architecture design to position us for long term success. As we are a startup, you will be expected to be scrappy and willing to roll up your sleeves by writing and pushing code.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design and implementation of robust technical architectures, ensuring alignment with business requirements, security standards and industry’s best practices
• Define and rationalize the tech staffing strategy trade offs – outsourced model vs inhouse talent staffing
• Manage technical processes including shaping how the technical sides of projects are managed, striving for a well-defined process (e.g. Agile, Scrum, Lean, etc.) that brings results
• Establish and maintain efficient and reliable technology operations, including systems infrastructure, network, data management and security protocols for high performance, uptime and data integrity
• Track performance, maintain productivity, work closely with developers, understanding where they are finding success, and where they need work
• Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy tailored to the company’s business objectives, product vision, scalability and operational efficiency
• Create and manage the technology budget, optimizing resource allocation and ensuring cost-effective solutions
• Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies
• Identify and mitigate technology-related risks, ensuring data privacy and security regulations compliance
• Stay aware of the latest tech advancements to provide strategic insights and recommendations for maintaining our technological edge

Required skills and qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field
• 5+ years of experience as a technology officer or in a similar senior technology leadership role
• Demonstrated success in managing IT infrastructure, IT budgets, software development and systems architecture
• Deep understanding of technology trends, best practices and the US market’s technology landscape
• Extensive knowledge of software development methodologies, infrastructure management, and cybersecurity best practices
• Experience building applications from scratch with scalable technical foundations and designs
• Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate business objectives into effective technology strategies
• Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale technology projects, delivering results on time and within budget
• Experience in Blockchain technology architecture and implementations

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Experience in AI technology architecture and implementations
• A master’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field
• Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, AWS and/or CISSP
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies for software development/delivery
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior executives
• Proven ability to navigate complex technology landscapes and align technology initiatives with business objectives
