Funke Akindele premieres “A Tribe Called Judah” focusing on single parenthood

If they knew the danger that was waiting ahead, perhaps a family of boys captured in the film won't have dared to attempt a robbery.

The famous Nigerian Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, will on Friday, 15 December 2023 storm the cinema with a title, A Tribe Called Judah” which was co-directed by Adeoluwa Owu, who is popularly referred to as Captain Degzy.

Funke Akindele, who has been an embodiment of great talent by delivering exceptional movies in the entertainment industry over the past years, dedicated the movie to her late mother, Dr Adebanjo Akindele.

Speaking at the premiere of the movie held at the Filmhouse Cinema IMAX on Sunday, 10 December 2023, Funke Akindele shared that “The story is so dear to my heart. It has a part of my late mum in it, and it represents the struggles faced by many single parents and mothers in society”.

The movie shows a family of boys aided by their mother in a robbery effort that happened at a mall. If they knew the danger that lay ahead, perhaps they wouldn’t have made the move. Upon entering the shopping arena, they are met by armed robbers who are the more experienced when it comes to unlawful entry.

Some of the movie’s top cast include Funke Akindele herself playing Jedidah Judah. Also involved are Boma Akpore, Fathia Balogun, Etinosa Idemudia, and more.
