Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on developing and maintaining the technical backend of our web-based platform, enhancing functionality, and ensuring a seamless user experience for our marketplace.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain scalable server-side applications using Node.js.
* Manage and optimize Progress Database to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
* Design and implement robust APIs for web and mobile platforms.
* Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
* Build and maintain dashboards for real-time data visualization and management.
* Implement security and data protection settings.
* Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
* Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
* Troubleshoot and debug applications.
* Continuously improve functionality and responsiveness of existing systems.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* At least 3 years of experience in backend development with a strong proficiency in Node.js.
* Extensive experience with Progress Database management and optimization.
* Proven track record of developing and managing dashboards for data visualization.
* Strong understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment).
* Excellent understanding of server-side templating languages and server-side CSS preprocessors.
* Familiarity with front-end languages (e.g., HTML, JavaScript and CSS).
* Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to perform well in a team.
* Strong organizational and project management skills.
Additional Skills:
* Experience with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.) is a plus.
* Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
* Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Salary Range: ₦400,000 – ₦600,000 Monthly
