For the first time this season, a former level 2 housemate emerged the Head of House (HoH) yesterday in the Big Brother Naija house. The toughest individual and arguably the strongest player in the game so far, Phyna, became HoH after the round of games. It was a time of celebration for the female housemates as this was a second win for the ladies.
For the other part of the surprise, she picked Groovy and Bryann to enjoy her victory reward, a movie date. Eventually, they were ushered into the level three house for a sleepover with the evicted housemates. The shock on Phyna’s face was obvious as no one would have seen that coming. The now level 3 guests in Big Brother’s house kept screaming that they were still housemates. It were still in the dark that they were merely pieces in Biggie’s puzzle, soon to leave the house on Sunday.
In exercise of her veto power, Phyna replaced Chichi with Allysyn to be up for possible eviction in the new week. As much as this might be a clever decision, it might also be the beginning of a new problem for the housemates. Meanwhile, Rachel became the new Tail of House as she had the poorest performance during the games.
In other news, the nominations this week were hot and the housemates up for possible eviction include Adekunle, Dotun, Sheggz, Allysyn, Bella and Hermes. It seemed like a tough week, though it was exciting that nobody from the former level 2 house was up for eviction. We anticipated this and looked forward to proving to former level 1 housemates that they got lucky as a result of their winning in the HoH games. I bet they already got the memo.
Diana, who was now an evicted housemate on media tours, gave us another exciting moment. She spilled the tea about her diary sessions and feelings towards Big Brother. Yes, romantic feelings! She admitted to liking Biggie on a different level and this was her explanation for being very free during diary sessions. She opined that Biggie seemed like the only person close to her age in the house, hence, she would like to meet with him to establish a more cordial and intimate relationship. It takes some real courage to be as outspoken as Diana. This revelation was indeed a shocker.
Also worthy of mention was Sheggz and Bella’s newly-acquired strikes issued by Biggie before the live evictions. Biggie was not an exception to the people who detested the constant misconduct from this couple. Hence, after addressing their attitudes and excesses, they bagged one strike each. This also elevated them to the chart of the five most talked about housemates. They trended, as usual, for controversies and ugly behaviour.
Doyin, in continuation with her signature behaviour, didn’t stop engaging in gossip about the former housemates. In her words, “I do think they like each other, but I don’t think they will work out,” she said about Bella and Sheggz. This was just one day after kissing their asses rigorously after the fight with Rachel. Doyin continued to set herself up to appear as a terrible person. She keeps entrenching the feeling that she is bothersome interloper. She also continued to reflect double standards in all her arguments. She just might need as much saving as Bella at this point.
