My name is Somack Chukwudi Mmesoma. I am a mother of two and the brain behind Somack Aju Mbaise, locally sourced herbs, which is loosely interpreted as a roll from Mbaise.

For those that don’t know, Aju Mbaise refers to herbs and roots sourced from Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria. I must confess that Aju Mbaise has numerous health benefits. The name Aju comes from the way these herbs and roots are folded.

Years back, Aju Mbaise was originally taken by women after childbirth or women who had miscarriages to help detoxify their system and get them back in shape. Over the years, it has transformed and has since been used to boost women’s fertility, normalize irregular mensuration, and achieve weight loss.

What prompted you to commercialize Aju Mbaise?

I discovered Aju Mbaise shortly after childbirth when I began to add weight unnecessarily. In my urgent search for a solution to burn the excess fat, I discovered the herbs from Imo state. After taking it for about a month, I realized I had slimmed down so well and regained my banging body.

At this time, I was broke and I decided to increase its awareness and make it easily accessible and build a business around it. I made my first million from the sale of Aju Mbaise not too long after I commenced business. I’ve gone on to acquire other investments.

For me, commercializing Aju Mbaise was a case of bridging a gap and making money in the process. This also prompted the thought of packaging Aju Mbaise in tea bags so that I can meet the orders of high-end clients and Nigerians in the Diaspora. Each tea bag contains moringa leaves, uziza, ginger, uda, herbal roots and boasts of the same efficacy as the wrap

Who can take Aju Mbaise?

Aju Mbaise is boiled and taken as a tea to aid detoxification, digestion, increase libido and help with weight loss. It can also be taken by women who have just given birth, anyone looking to burn fat, or used to regulate sugar levels in the body and generally stay in shape. However, I must sound this caveat: pregnant women cannot take this tea.

I have been receiving positive feedback from customers on the impact of the product, especially regularising menstruation and improving fertility, which improves the chances of becoming pregnant after taking Aju Mbaise.

For maximum results, when trying to lose weight, food must be eaten in moderation while taking Aju Mbaise. If you do not see progressive results after one month of taking it, kindly discontinue use. Other users also affirmed it cures mild infections and helps to correct hormonal imbalances.

We have vendors in cities across the country. You can also order via our Facebook page, Somack Aju Mbaise. And we also deliver worldwide. A pack of 50 pieces of Aju Mbaise tea bags goes for ₦5,000 while a wrap is ₦400 and ₦12,000 for 10litres of ready-to-drink Aju Mbaise.

What are your efforts to take Aju Mbaise mainstream?

It is my expectation and earnest desire that Aju Mbaise makes it to the mainstream as soon as possible owing to the numerous positive reviews. The challenge, however, lies with the hesitation with which Nigerians embrace indigenous herbs even though herbs are also the materials used for the production of green teas purchased from big stores. We need to encourage locally sourced ingredients or local products from Nigeria as long as the products meet the best standards.
