Background

The “Sungba” crooner has been on a roll since 2023 began by releasing banger hits back to back. Ahmed Ololade popularly known by his stage name Asake started the year with his hit single Yoga which surprised the majority of his fans because of the uniqueness of the track.  

The artiste continued his winning streak by releasing 2:30 in April and is back again like he never left with another head-bopping tune called Amapiano.

About ‘Amapiano’

It is almost safe to say that Asake is the “King of Party Anthems” because of his consistency with his tunes. He has created creative and catchy tunes with the Amapiano sample beats and has left a mark in the music industry with his ingenuity.

The lyrics of the single, Amapiano, isn’t that much different from his other singles, as the song talks about his successes and his popularity. He also mentions that his presence is always felt whenever he walks into a room.

Nigerian rapper and founder of YBNL record label, Olamide also added his unique flavour to the track as he talked about the happiness he has found and his huge successes. The line “I’m trading all of my sorrows for my peace” seems to resonate well with a lot of his fans.

The TG Omori- directed music video had an air of creativity and fun. It completely communicated the lyrics of the song. From the party vibes to the Intentional lighting technique. The director always seems to be showcasing different sides of his creativity with every new creation.

Opinion

Amapiano is the perfect party tune to get your groove on any time of the day and it’s a track that must be added to everyone’s Friday playlist to ease the stress of the week.

We can all assume that the year is just starting for the creative artiste and we should be expecting more tracks for the year 2023.
