Boy Spyce’s Nobody is smooth and sensual

The newly unveiled Mavins crooner released a self-titled EP Friday last week and his sound is just as smooth as all of Mavins’ other delectable offerings. Boy Spyce is already a fully formed artist for one starting out so young and seems to have his sound figured out. His eponymous EP, Boy Spyce is a well-crafted offering with smooth romantic beats and top-notch vocals.

Nobody is the stand-out star of the show. In it, he sings of unrequited love and a tale of how he’s been in love with someone for years and pretending that all he felt for her was just the platonic friendship. But, like in his debut, he comes out boldly to confess his love. His love interest seems to be holding out on him, refusing to return the intensity of his feelings as he begs her to stay with him.

The plaintive lyrics are backed by smooth percussions and a mid-tempo beat reminiscent of R&B instead of just Afro-pop. His falsetto offsets the beats beautifully and the high notes he hits are sensual and beguiling. It tempts the listener to replay over and again until the lyrics themselves stick.

Boy Spyce is a smart musician with a great management team behind him. Nobody is chock full of relatable, quotable, and catchy lyrics that can be played at weddings and romantic dinners. He has immense potential and we really can’t wait to hear his future material.
