We are seeking a skilled and motivated Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize our database systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring database integrity, performance, and security. You will work closely with IT teams and developers to maintain database systems, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to the growth of our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Management:

Install, configure, and upgrade database management systems (DBMS).

  1. Monitor database performance and ensure high levels of availability and security.

2. Troubleshoot database issues, optimize query performance, and tune systems.

3. Manage database backups, restores, and recovery processes.

4. Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching.

Security & Compliance:

  1. Implement and maintain database security, including access controls, encryption, and authentication.

2. Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR).

3. Conduct periodic security audits and data integrity checks.

Data Modeling & Architecture:

  1. Collaborate with developers and analysts to design, implement, and optimize database structures.

2. Assist with database schema changes, indexing, and query optimization.

3. Participate in database capacity planning and performance analysis.

Monitoring & Optimization:

  1. Set up and maintain monitoring tools to track database performance and usage.

2. Perform regular performance tuning and query optimization.

3. Proactively identify and resolve potential bottlenecks in database performance.

Disaster Recovery & Failover:

  1. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans.

2. Implement high-availability and failover solutions for critical systems.

Collaborate:

Work closely with development, operations, and product teams to support database needs.

Provide guidance and support to junior DBAs and technical staff.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

3-5 years of experience as a Database Administrator.

Hands-on experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.

Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) is a plus.

Strong knowledge of SQL and performance tuning techniques.

Familiarity with database monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios).

Experience with backup, restore, and recovery strategies.

Understanding of data security best practices and regulatory compliance.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Knowledge of cloud databases (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell).

Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.

Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or similar.
