Davido Song, Stand Strong, pivots to another level

This Davido song features the well-known “Sunday Service Choir”. The multiple award-winning singer and entertainment act dropped a colorfully created track tagged Stand Strong.

The track, which was released in the first week of May 2022 debuted on Apple Music in the Top 100 in over 15 countries. Davido went on to announce via his Twitter handle that the video for Stand Strong would drop on Wednesday the 25^th of May 2022. He stayed true to his words. The visuals did a good job representing the lyric’s theme by delivering an accurate visual representation that matches the story the lyrics tell.

Davido has been a sensation in the Nigerian music industry since he dropped his first track, Back When, which was released in 2011 under HKN Music.  After he dropped out of Oakwood University to pursue his career in music, he paused and went to Babcock University where he graduated in July 2015.

Subsequently, he went on to release club bangers such as Fall, Assurance, FIA, FEM, Skelewu, Tchelete, Risky, Gobe, Aye, Wonder Woman, and Jowo back-to-back. Stand Strong is another hit release in-line with the brand that is Davido.

The artist described the significance of the song. He said: “This one is special to me. It’s different. The conception, the mindset, and the making have been different. I know you love it when I make you dance, but now I want to make you feel. This one is for everyone out there holding it up. I know what I’ve experienced over the past 10 years, and a lot of you have been through it all with me. But, have you really? For the first time, I want to bring you into the other part of my world. The part, where every day is a battle but I have no option but to stand strong. I present to you, the first single off my next album.”

Stand Strong is a track young Nigerians can relate to because it describes the artist’s decade-long journey in the Nigerian music scene. It journals his successes, struggles, and losses and his confidence to keep moving. It reminds you of daily struggles and prompts you to keep trailblazing despite the hurdles that are along the way.
