Delay in unravelling Mohbad’s death sets new fire

Since Mohbad’s death, Sam Larry and the Marlian crew led by Naira Marley have been targets of criticism from fans.

If the death of the Afrobeats musician, Mohbad is the handiwork of some persons, any further delay in identifying them may invite taking the law into one’s hands instead of relying on the Nigerian police to bring about justice.

These are the exact thoughts of the singer, Bella Shmurda, who is a known ally of the deceased who passed away on 12 September.

Posting via his X (formerly Twitter) profile on Sunday, Bella Shmurda says that his friend’s spirit has been urging him to take an action that would lead to the prosecution of those who made his life a difficult one.

Since Mohbad’s death, Sam Larry and the Marlian crew led by Naira Marley have been targets of criticism from fans. Once again, their names came up in the tweets by Bella Shmurda who is threatening to go off the books if the police fail to act soon.

In one post, he requests that “Samlarry and [the whole] marlians music [crew] must be arrested”.

This demand chimes with the demand of most fans who have been active on social media calling for consequences.

Last week, when the matter was heating up, Sam Larry, whose name is among the top trends on X as at Monday, 18 September, was seen in a video doing some sort of damage repair. He explained that no matter the conflict involving him and Mohbad while he was alive, he still had a deep love for him like a brother would.

Sadly, it would take very strong convincing before music fans who have turned against him and Naira Marley can believe it.
