The latest YBNL signee Asake has graced the Nigerian streets with another great jam and club banger, Terminator. The street-pop artiste has dropped bangers back-to-back since his rapid rise to fame. Surprisingly, you will recall that Terminator was released just in time for his new album, Mr. Money with the Vibe. Notably, all his projects seem to portray the life of a hustler who is tirelessly working to keep his head up in the game. He hit the ground running by releasing several party jams just so the world doesn’t leave him behind while it’s moving very fast with trends.

It is noteworthy that Asake has not only delivered gingerly music but also won over millions of fans with his fast-paced beat, street slangs, and great energy. Despite being accused of a platitudinous use of his beat, his songs don’t fall short of expectations nor have they stopped feet from dancing vigorously to the sound. He is an epitome of creativity and consistency. His Nigerian fans agree that he deserves the Artiste of The Year Award.

Regrettably, Terminator was leaked a few weeks before the actual release. Seeing that many people got the leaked version prompted Asake to restrategise. He reworked his masterpiece by changing the first verse and also making sure of a lit video released together with the song. These are the issues, but his ability to navigate through this huge challenge and still give great street music content animates his super talent, resilience, and the fact that he is notches ahead of the game.

On the flip side, some fans still don’t think this new jam beats any of his old releases even though it is just as great. The likes of Sungba, PBUY and Omo Ope are still topping charts and causing so much excitement and fun at the clubs. The fact that over and again Asake, like other great artistes, have accentuated Nigeria on the world map classifies him as an A-list artiste. Terminator, like his other songs this year, has remained number one on the top 100 songs in Nigeria today. This defies the argument that the song may be subpar.

Just like this great danceable music, Asake’s new set of teeth has got the whole internet talking. Some have called him ‘Ibadan Quavo’ since his signature teeth look like that of the American rapper’s. His publicity is also top-notch seeing that he is serving all the hot stuff that keeps the Nigerian streets talking.

His growth since Olamide of YBNL signed him has also reaffirmed the music promoter’s legendary status in the music industry. Over the years, as the head of YBNL Olamide has been very charitable to up and coming street artistes. From giving free verses to signing them, he has done a great job setting grounds for the new artistes to ‘blow’ and the streets are forever grateful. Now that he has delivered Asake to us, we have been basking in the spoils of steady danceable beats and relatable music content.

A mirror into Asake’s past life as a student of Obafemi Awolowo University is evidence as to why he is now an unstoppable force. He started making music since around 2008 in the university. Guess what, he has been revamping his old songs; in fact, news had it that he has not recorded a single new song. He is literally serving his old music tuned to suit the needs of present day streets. This makes him as well as his songs exceptional.  He employs beatboxing, and subtle choruses (with different voices) to deliver unique and melodious rhythm especially in Terminator, his latest banging irresistible music.

If you haven’t already caught the Asake vibe, you are missing out on uniqueness. Keep jamming to this showpiece. Even if you don’t, your speakers can’t evade it.
