Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Specialist to join our dynamic team in the media and creative industry. The Finance Specialist will play a critical role in managing financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and ensuring fiscal responsibility across multiple projects. This role requires a deep understanding of the financial nuances within the creative sector, including project-based accounting and revenue forecasting.
Key Responsibilities:
· Financial Planning & Budgeting: Develop and maintain budgets for various projects, campaigns, and operational expenses.
· Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.
· Cost Analysis: Monitor project costs and evaluate financial efficiency, recommending adjustments as needed.
· Revenue Management: Manage invoicing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, ensuring timely payments and cash flow.
· Project-Based Accounting: Track and report on the financial performance of creative projects, including the allocation of resources, costs, and revenues.
· Tax Compliance: Ensure that the company remains compliant with relevant tax regulations and handles tax filings in a timely manner.
· Payroll Management: Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accurate compensation for permanent staff and freelancers.
· Financial Forecasting: Develop financial models to forecast revenue, expenses, and profitability based on market trends and project pipelines.
· Vendor & Client Liaison: Maintain financial relationships with vendors and clients, including contract negotiations and financial terms.
· Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits by providing required financial documentation and support.
· Cost Saving Strategies: Identify opportunities for cost reductions and efficiency improvements across the company’s financial operations.
· Risk Management: Identify financial risks within projects and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
Qualifications / Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
· 3-5 years of experience in finance, preferably within the media, entertainment, or creative industry.
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
· Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or other relevant tools.
· Excellent analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
· Strong understanding of project-based accounting and financial tracking.
· Ability to manage multiple financial tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience with managing finances in a creative or media environment (e.g., advertising agencies, production studios, or entertainment firms).
· Knowledge of media industry-specific financial challenges, such as intellectual property rights and royalties.
· Ability to balance creativity with financial constraints to optimize project outcomes.
