Perhaps it is one who knows the country, that’s how to find the true Nigerian.
Sixty-three years have passed since Nigeria became an independent nation that is technically rid of colonial shackles. Expectedly that has brought on peculiar milestones and more troubles as well. No matter the result, the right to direct their country’s affairs is priceless to all Nigerians.
To know Nigeria is to recognise its diversity which shows in the multi-ethnicity, where different parts form a whole. Like the way, many tribes have come together to become a nation. Around this country are monuments to mark its history; the roaring waterfall that draws attention from all over the world, as well as social art.
In the local sports scene stands the magnificent image of the Akwa Ibom International Stadium located in Uyo in Akwa Ibom State. This is the new home of the Super Eagles, Nigeria’s national football team. Here at the 30,000 seaters is where all the 2026 World Cup qualifiers games will be played. Why that is the case is hardly missable – it ties in with the prestige which it brings when matches go on there and it bodes well for tourism.
There is another destination you ought to know about when you wish to connect with nature and its many offerings. Over there at the Matsigra Waterfall in southern Kaduna is the next breath-taking experience. It is picturesque, the way water streams down a rock of up to 30 metres and empties into a bowl-like enclosure. Getting to this waterfall, it is advisable to have some handy items with you in case you do not want to be bored silly. You should have your hiking gear, swimwear and a bottle or two of water to deal with thirst.
