Heineken brings Dutch Grand Prix thrills to Lagos
The Dutch Grand Prix came alive in Ikoyi, with Heineken, star guests, and endless energy.

Formula 1 may have lit up the tracks in the Netherlands, but Lagos was not left out of the action. On Sunday, August 31, Heineken turned Herel Play on Ruxton Road, Ikoyi, into a mini race circuit of its own, giving fans a front-row seat to the excitement of the Dutch Grand Prix.
It was not just about watching cars zoom across the screen. The vibe was alive, bottles clinked, conversations roared, and the atmosphere was so charged you could almost feel the engines.
In its statement on Wednesday, Heineken described the Dutch Grand Prix as “action-packed,” with Oscar Piastri claiming his seventh win of the season. At Herel Play, the crowd reacted to every twist: groans at Lando Norris’ retirement, applause for Piastri’s steady control, and cheers when Isack Hadjar pulled off his surprise breakthrough.

The experience was dialled up with appearances from reality TV favourites Saga and Sheggz, who not only mingled with fans but also showed them how to pour the perfect glass of Heineken. Popular hypeman Big Bimi made sure the energy never dipped, keeping spirits in top gear.
And just when you thought it was over, the party shifted gears. “The event didn’t end with the race, as DJ Tohbahd turned the venue into a dance floor for an afterparty,” Heineken added. “The bottles stayed frosty, and the energy shifted seamlessly from race tactics to shouted lyrics and raised toasts to a Sunday well spent.”
From start to finish, it was more than a viewing party, it was Lagos living the thrill of Formula 1, Heineken style.
