Hilda Baci engraves her name in Gold in the Guinness Book of Record
Fast-rising celebrity Chef, Hilda Baci’s ‘longest cooking marathon by an individual’, beyond breaking the Guinness World Record, has become an attraction to the high and mighty.
The Amore Gardens, Lekki where celebrity Chef, Hilda Baci is currently playing host to hundreds of fans and well wishers in the longest cooking marathon by an individual has continued to attract the high and mighty. Having broken the Guinness World Record previously set by Luta Tondon, the Akwa Ibom State-born celebrity chef has set a new world record, smashing the 87 hours 45 minutes record of Lata Tondon.
The cook-a-thon which started on Thursday, the 11th of May has continued to gain momentum thereby shutting down the entire internet. Trust Nigerians, they have been cheering her on under severe weather conditions as she inches closer to setting her record.
The event has since become more of a jamboree as brands, politicians have been slugging it out to ride on her popularity. Lagos State Governor, Sanwo-Olu, President-elect of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and the Guinness record holder of the longest cooking time by an individual, Lata Tandon have all sent their goodwill messages. In fact, Governor Sanwo-Olu visited and took time to even have a taste of one of Hilda’s delectable dishes.
It’s noteworthy that Hilda Baci runs a food restaurant called MyFoodByHilda and she won the inaugural Jollof Face-off competition in 2021, walking away with the grand prize of US$5,000. She has since been dubbed the Nigerian Jollof Queen.
Hilda Baci’s audacity of hope is undoubtedly legendary. Having completed 90 hours, she has shown the resolve to set her record and hit the agreed time of 96 hours which would end by 4pm today. With more support from Nigerians, brands, and relevant institutions, it’s undoubted that the 27-year-old culinary genius will fully meet her expectations.
