Over the past weekend on Saturday 25 January 2025, Miss Taiwo a cyclist was to help the Panther automobile maker catch the world’s attention in the image of Guinness World Records Carl Saville the adjudicator who reportedly certified the achievement.
Saville has had quite an impressive career as a linesman who makes sure rules are followed whenever a Guinness Records attempt is being staged, like recently in Lagos.
And so, in a cordoned area of the national theatre, all sides got to slot themselves as characters entering into a historic moment, especially the organiser Qoray.
The company’s Chief Executive Officer Olabanjo Alimi had this to say in a Monday press release. This achievement lays the foundation for clean, accessible, and efficient transportation driven by solutions that come from the heart of Africa.
He said that the historic event was made possible through the collaboration of key partners like the theatre for example. There were several mock tests according to Mr Alimi before the record was broken.
Initially, the aim was to cover 250 kilometres under a 12-hour window but cyclist Taiwo saw herself going beyond that with her spectacular delivery.
The press statement yesterday described her as one whose remarkable achievement sends a clear message: African solutions, powered by innovation, can rival the best on the global stage.
