Role Description

IT Specialist – Network Operations and Maintenance (NOM)

We seek a highly experienced and skilled IT Specialist in Network Operations and Maintenance (NOM) to join our team and ensure our network infrastructure’s efficient and secure operation. The ideal candidate will oversee, maintain, and optimize our company’s IT network to ensure maximum uptime and security for our users.

Responsibilities

• Develop long-term network strategies based on company needs, industry standards, and service requirements
• Monitor and manage the local and wide area networks of the organization to ensure maximum uptime for users
• Assign routing protocols and configure routing table configurations
• Administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy, report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information, and manage projects
• Configure routing and switching equipment, hosted IP voice services, and firewalls
• Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases
• Design and implement new network solutions and improve the efficiency of current networks
• Coordinate with strategic suppliers to resolve problems, demand innovation, and influence product design to accommodate current and future business requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Certified CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco network professional is preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a network administration or maintenance role
• Extensive knowledge of network connectivity, technologies, protocols, and security
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and strong organizational skills
• Willingness to perform network maintenance outside of business hours
