NCDMB tops ease of doing business rankings for 4th consecutive year
PEBEC honours Board’s record of digital reforms and operational efficiency across Nigeria’s oil and gas sector

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board has once again been recognised as Nigeria’s leading public sector agency for ease of doing business, clinching the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council Transparency and Efficiency Champion Award for the fourth consecutive year.
The Board topped the national rankings in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, maintaining its position as the highest-performing agency assessed under the federal government’s business environment reform programme.
The latest award was presented on December 2, 2025, at the State House in Abuja during the PEBEC Awards and Gala Night, a ceremony dedicated to celebrating institutions driving service delivery reforms across the public sector—the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe was represented at the event by the Acting Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, Mr Omomehin Ajimijaye, who noted that the recognition reflected the Board’s steady alignment with national policy reforms as well as its internal performance targets.

For NCDMB, the continued recognition points to years of operational restructuring focused on transparency, teamwork and consistent engagement with industry partners and other stakeholders. The agency has prioritised faster processing times, clearer regulatory procedures and quality service delivery, all aimed at reducing bureaucratic obstacles faced by businesses operating in the Nigerian oil and gas sector.
The gala event was chaired by Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, while PEBEC Director General, Princess Zarah Audu, praised the Board’s commitment to automation and digital processes, describing these reforms as critical in reducing manual intervention and strengthening accountability across regulatory systems. She urged other government agencies to adopt similar models to improve service efficiency nationwide.

Beyond the headline award, NCDMB also secured the Reform Champion Award, which was presented to Engr. Cityfaith Baribor Zorasi for outstanding performance as the Board’s liaison to PEBEC. The honour recognises his role in driving reform coordination and sustaining compliance with performance benchmarks.
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening institutional performance and advancing indigenous capacity development under the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act of 2010. Officials noted that the focus remains on improving service delivery frameworks, expanding automation efforts and setting higher operational standards in the years ahead.
NCDMB expressed appreciation to PEBEC for the recognition and commended its staff for their consistency and dedication, describing the fourth consecutive win as a collective achievement rooted in professionalism and shared commitment to national development goals.
