Police exhume Mohbad’s corpse, next is the autopsy
An unidentified nurse who reportedly injected the deceased before his passing is now in police custody.
The Lagos State Police Command is noticeably picking up the pace with regards to an investigation to unravel what caused the death of the Afrobeats singer, Mohbad, with a confirmation today that his corpse has been exhumed.
After the exhumation will come the autopsy which is part of the procedure that has been mapped out to get to the bottom of the matter. A police spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin, earlier today confirmed the latest development in a simple tweet via his X profile (formerly Twitter), much to the relief of the public who wants to be informed.
“Exhumation completed. Autopsy to commence,” reads a comment by SP Hundeyin, who is the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command.

Further in a conversation with Punch News, he confirmed that an unidentified nurse who reportedly injected the deceased before his passing is now in police custody.

When Mr. Idowu Owohunwa, the Lagos State Police Commissioner at a press briefing on Monday, September 18, unveiled a 13-person Special Investigation Team that will be headed by his deputy, Saheed Kassim, it was disclosed that the autopsy will involve a histological examination that is expected to test tissues and organs of the human body. A second type of test that will be carried out is the toxicological analysis which probes for substances.
All these will assist the police to arrive at a conclusion and proceed to other actions.
The nurse in police custody is a testament to an earlier declaration that anyone deemed fit will be apprehended. Among the late Mohbad’s fans and allies, brows have been raised towards the direction of Naira Marley who is having fingers pointed at him for making life difficult for the departed when he was a signee at his Marlians Records World label.
Eventually, Mohbad had to leave what has been described as a toxic environment. And even after leaving the label, the issues with Naira Marley’s disciples did not stop.
