Rema’s Calm Down is calming and amazing
Calm Down by Rema is a testament to the evolution of the 21-year-old Mavin artiste, who has come into his own and cemented his place as one of the leading voices of Afrobeats in Nigeria.
The track is his first single off his newly released debut album, Raves, and Roses, and it did not disappoint.
Here, The Chief Raver masterfully serenades us— and his love interest with his trademark falsetto – wooing, sweet-talking, peddling fantasies against a backdrop of graffiti, bright colors, and old architecture. The video is a neatly arranged piece with an apt depiction of a couple in love – from the scooter rides across town to the snooker table to the private party for two. The set pieces do not fail to remind us of Rema’s penchant for art collection.
The catchy chorus makes you want to dance, immediately you hear it. Indeed, it’s already a favorite for TikTok choreography and skits. The hypnotic notes are full of passion and the beat is as near perfect as can be.
Produced by Andre Vibez, and with the visuals shot by the omnipresent Director K, this banger is going to be at the top of the charts for weeks to come.
