We are currently helping our client who is a market-leading igaming company to hire their new Senior Software Engineer in Sofia. We seek a professional keen to achieve what is best for the business, capable of collaborating well within a distributed team, across disciplines with experts in other areas (frontend, DevOps, product, project management, and operations).

Responsibilities

• Participate in all stages of software development, from planning to deployment, ensuring open communication with stakeholders.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and other engineering teams, offering and seeking assistance proactively.
• Take ownership of the team’s work, troubleshoot defects, and maintain application integrity.
• Conduct Code Reviews and Quality Assurance conscientiously, utilizing these opportunities for knowledge sharing.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies and advocate for modernizing our systems when necessary.
• Embrace opportunities for cross-functional engagement, including backend, frontend, QA, and automation.
• Demonstrate discipline in managing your work and excelling in a remote environment.
• Show your ability to debug, investigate, and optimize solutions.

Qualifications

• Ability to develop with the LEMP stack
• Nginx: configuration, debug, reverse proxies
• MySQL – query, optimization, schemas, debug
• PHP 8
• Familiarity with version control systems (preferably Git)
• Understanding of best coding practices
• Come up with efficient solutions for code implementation, incidents, firefighting, and fixing defects
• Teamwork attitude
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Ability to work with legacy systems and maintain other’s code.
