Position Overview:
As a Senior UI/UX Designer at Afrikobo, you will lead the design and user experience efforts of our platform, ensuring it is user-friendly, visually appealing, and efficient. You’ll work closely with our product and development teams to craft intuitive interfaces that meet the needs of our users and align with our mission of simplifying the consumer decision-making process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end UI/UX design process, from research and wireframing to prototyping and testing.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define and implement innovative solutions for the product’s direction and visuals.
- Conduct user research, analyze feedback, and iterate on designs to improve user satisfaction and engagement.
- Create and maintain design systems, ensuring consistency across all digital platforms.
- Translate complex user needs and product goals into intuitive and beautiful interfaces.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to keep Afrikobo’s design cutting-edge.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design with a strong portfolio showcasing your design thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and best practices.
- Ability to create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that communicate design ideas.
- Experience with user research and usability testing methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Experience designing for e-commerce platforms is a major advantage.
