We are seeking an experienced Social Media Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a creative storyteller with a passion for film, media, and entertainment. As the Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic social media initiatives to enhance brand awareness, drive engagement, and grow our online community.

About the role:

  • Develop, implement, and manage our social media strategy to align with our brand marketing objectives, target audience and industry trends.
  • Create original, engaging, and compelling high-quality content for all social media platforms.
  • Manage day-to-day activities on social media platforms, including content scheduling, posting, and community engagement.
  • Stay ahead of trends in digital technologies, platform updates and social media best practices, adapting strategies as needed.
  • Monitor and Analyse social media metrics, track performance, and generate reports to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage social media advertising campaigns, including budget allocation, targeting, ad creation, and performance tracking.
  • Proactively engage with followers, online community, customers, clients, and partners across social media platforms to build relationships and foster positive experiences.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Marketing, Sales, and Product Development teams to ensure brand consistency and align social media efforts with overall business goals.
  • Conduct regular social media audits to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay informed about relevant industry news and developments to identify potential opportunities for content creation and engagement.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • Proven experience in social media management, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful campaigns and initiatives.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative ideas and storytelling concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content tailored to different audiences and platforms.
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics tools and performance tracking metrics.
  • Ability to analyse data and provide evidence-based recommendations.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for film, media, and entertainment with an in-depth understanding of the African media landscape.
