How a female undergrad saw her palms turn white while making a wash-a-thon record

The Guinness Book of World Records inspires tens of thousands of people yearly - all are seeking the recognition of a special talent they have to offer.

A female undergraduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Nigeria, named Subair Enitan is the latest to catch the marathon fever, prompting her to attempt a 50-hour Guinness World Records target that certifies her top-performing stamina in hand-washing.

Fortunately for her effort, the objective was achieved. However, there were side effects noticed after the challenger raised her output to 58 hours instead. Her hands turned white and Miss Subair who is a 200-level student of Linguistics and African Languages later found herself undergoing in-patient care at a hospital.

The title seeker reportedly ended her exhibition early Monday morning. It was after this that the bizarre hand bleaching occurred. Even if the Guinness World Records is yet to acknowledge this record-breaking pitch, the university undergraduate has found comfort in the company of friends who appreciated her effort.

Perhaps, the acknowledgement would come later on, as soon as the bruises and pain heal. Maybe Miss Subair will have her Hilda Baci moment in no time and everyone will be celebrating her.

So much good had come out of Chef Baci’s cooking marathon which lasted 93 hours and 11 minutes. Although she has now been displaced, she held the title of completing the longest cooking marathon in the world for four up to five months until an Irish, Alan Fisher took over the spot.

The Guinness Book of World Records inspires tens of thousands of people yearly, and through this path, many have found recognition and sometimes success. Ever since Miss Baci’s effort, there has been a showing of determination among Nigerian youngsters who are seeking to enter new phases of responsibility.
