Restaurant Manager at Bukka Hut

Location: Lagos

Purpose / Role

Responsible for the smooth and profitable running of the restaurant, ensuring excellent customer service, excellent product quality, and maintaining high standards of general hygiene.

Prime responsibilities and duties

  • Ensures that customers are well served and enjoy a pleasant dining experience.
  • Ensures that the entire restaurant is professionally cleaned, equipment is well maintained, and the dining ambience is conducive to customers.
  • Ensures that staff are properly scheduled and positioned in respective departments according to skill set.
  • Ensures that staff are appropriately dressed, comply with the specified dress code and maintain a high level of personal hygiene.
  • Ensures that products are available on time and properly merchandised.
  • Ensures that products are produced according to specified recipes and are checked for quality before being displayed for sale.
  • Liaises with the procurement officer/storekeeper to ensure that raw materials are available for production.
  • Ensures that all sales transactions are duly entered into the cash registers, cash is accurately remitted to the accountant, and sales analysis is compiled at the close of business.
  • Ensures that sales budgets are achieved.
  • Motivates staff and ensures that staff complete assigned tasks.
  • Supervises staff to ensure compliance with set standards and policies.
  • Coordinates deliveries and bulk orders to ensure customers are satisfied.
  • Attends to customer complaints and gets feedback from customers about their dining experience.
  • Ensure accurate stock counts and control product waste.
  • Develop initiatives to increase sales, profitability, and customer counts.
  • Control day-to-day operations by scheduling labour, ordering food and supplies, & developing the restaurant team.
  • Control profitability by following cash/control security procedures, maintaining inventory, reviewing financial reports, and taking appropriate actions.
  • Conduct team performance appraisals, motivate & train, and take disciplinary action.
  • Effectively control stock and ensure stock management compliance with a corrective action plan.

Qualifications

The key success criteria for this role are:

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Business Administration or related fields.

• 2-4 years experience as a Restaurant Manager in QSR

• Good leadership skills.

• Effective communication skills.

• Proactiveness in addressing operational issues.

• Meeting and surpassing the daily sales target.
