Tems beats DJ Khalid, others to bag Grammy Award
Afrobeat sensation, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, in the early hours of today, carved her name in gold in the annals of world music when she emerged winner of world famous Grammy Awards. She beat America’s top music artistes like DJ Khalid, Jack Harlow, Kendrick Lamar, and Latto win this most coveted award.
The 27-year old follows the heels of Nigerian-British singer, Sade Adu who was the first female Nigerian to win the Grammy Awards with her single, ‘Sweetest Taboo’.
Tems won under the Best Melodic Rap Performance for the single “Wait for you” alongside American numero uno rappers, Future and Drake.
