Uriel second to be evicted from ‘Big Brother Naija All Stars’

After 22 days as a contestant in the Big Brother Naija All Stars reality show, Uriel Oputa saw an end to her involvement following an eviction verdict given by a three-member jury on Sunday night.

The jury comprised former contestants in previous BBNaija series – such as Teddy A., Laycon, and Diane. This set of judges ensured that Uriel’s time in the house lasted for approximately three weeks, following the exit of a rival Princess a week before.

For deciding to evict 33-year-old Uriel, the jury had to face criticism from her supporters who have made several accusations via social media bordering on biases. They could not comprehend the idea of her eviction when it seemed like there was another contestant, Seyi Awolowo, who was much more qualified for eviction since he scored lower votes than her. Seyi received 1.70% amount of the total votes from viewers compared to Uriel’s 2.00%. It is for this reason that some are now questioning the integrity of the trio of judges and see the introduction of a jury system as counterproductive.

Uriel’s latest dismissal means only eighteen contestants are remaining to bid for the N120 million grand prize.

Next weekend, August 20 precisely will see another exit. Will the coming week see a halt or another escape for Seyi Awolowo who has been twice nominated for eviction yet survived? Time will decide that.

In the meantime, fans and celebrities who hoped to see Uriel perform better than her previous outing in the second season of Big Brother Naija (the See Gobe edition) only have grief in their hearts. They had wished for Uriel to survive beyond the ninth-placed position that she recorded in her 2018 attempt but apparently, that wasn’t meant to be.

Responding to all the affection she had received from her fans on Sunday, Uriel put out a post on her Instagram where she was appreciative of the efforts. “Thank you all for your massive support right from day one,” read the comment that she shared via Instagram.
