Headfort Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides FREE legal services for innocent defendants in criminal cases who are too poor to pay for legal representation in Nigeria. We also provide victims of Police-harassment, wrongful arrest/detention, and other forms of abuse of power by the Police with FREE legal services. Our mission is to build a more equitable society through enhancing access to justice and deepening the practice of the rule of law in Nigeria.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site Communications Manager role located in Lagos, Nigeria. As a key member of our team, the Communications Manager will oversee all internal and external communications activities. The Communications Manager will be responsible for managing the Foundation’s online and offline communication channels, including the brand, social media, website, press releases, and other communication materials. The Manager will work closely with the management team to develop strategies that maximize the impact of the Foundation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in managing social media channels (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and knowledge of social media trends.
  • Experience in website management and content creation (WordPress, Wix, etc.).
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Experience in developing strategic communication plans and campaigns.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice and human rights.
