Will there be many more Super Eagles Afcon 2023 celebrations like this?
Super Eagles players have been captured sharing tight-fitting hugs while chanting praises of one another.
In the eyes of the fans, their Super Eagles’ early approach in the African Cup of Nations tournament going on in Ivory Coast has been too relaxed and lacking lustre following a one-to-one draw in the Equatorial Guinea opener.
Even though they earlier had doubts, the fans are showing a belief that their Nigerian football team can go far. This was after a win against neighbouring Cameroon on Saturday 27 January; the match ended by two goals to nothing.
After this then comes a justification for the excited mood that the players had immersed themselves in starting Afcon. The players had seemed extraordinarily confident no matter the complaint from the Super Eagles supporters as seen in their do not worry chants displayed on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) social media handles and YouTube.
Since the exceptional win against Cameroon on Saturday, there has been fanfare but what has been most glorious is the collage of emotions spread around the team.
In pictures, the team members were captured showcasing their emotions, chanting praises to Osimhen, who assisted in the goal-scoring.

Afterwards, they later went on to take the jubilation to their dressing room as they were captured in a video on the Super Eagles official Instagram page singing and dancing in their dressing room reminding Nigerians that they wouldn’t be let down.
Still in the atmosphere of the jubilation was Paul Onuachu seen in the post with other team players hugging and cheering one another after the win of the match.
The goal scorer of the match Ademola Lookman who scored the two goals also added that we are in the quarterfinal, and that’s the real celebration.
One of the players, Ahmed Musa also took to his Instagram page to share: In the beautiful game, we stand united, transcending tribe and religion. Let this victory be a reminder that our strength lies in coming together.
Nigerian fans are hopeful this celebratory mood will continue. They would wish for the excitement to linger long after their next match against the Angola national football team at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on 2 February.
