Who gets to go home with NCDMB’s Champions of Nigerian Content Awards and for what?

An awardee won’t just walk away with recognition; they’ll also enjoy notable perks such as enhanced media exposure and a special showcase at the NCDMB headquarters, among other benefits.

All those efforts to inspire more homegrown innovation in the oil and gas industry have yielded a move by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), now pushing to recognise those personalities and organisations who have made carrying out its mandate all the more possible these past years.

The Board, together with Sweetcrude Limited, a publisher, has launched the ‘Champions of Nigerian Content Awards’ designated to be held on Wednesday, 21 May 2025, in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital. This is according to a presser released yesterday.

When this day arrives, it is expected to be a moment to appreciate excellence with guests being treated at the NCDMB’s world-class conference hall. The event will coincide with the Nigerian Oil and Gas Opportunity Fair (NOGOF) from 20-22 May 2025.

According to Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, Executive Secretary of the NCDMB, the awards aim to identify and celebrate the pillars of Nigerian Content as part of the 15th anniversary of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act 2010.

Speaking on the initiative even further, Ogbe remarked that the time had come to identify and celebrate those who in the future will serve as a shining example of what is expected of others in the industry.

Unlike other accolades in the oil and gas industry, this awards programme will focus on verifiable accomplishments underpinned by well-defined metrics.

The Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate, alongside other divisions of the NCDMB, will spearhead the evaluation process to ensure transparency and credibility.
