Hermes’ eviction sparks controversy as fans allege vote rigging

The bombshell dropped when Ebuka announced Hermes as the third person to be evicted from the BBNaija show last night. As one of the strongest contenders and creatives in the house, he deserved better. The internet was on fire about his eviction even though his fans knew fully well that they could have voted enough to keep him in the finale. Some went further to argue that it was not a fair eviction, something along the line of a rigged voting system. Nevertheless, the show had to go on.
Even after predicting Phyna as the winner of this show, last night proved differently as the eviction took a different course. The housemate with the least votes was Sheggz and he was evicted from the show. Contrary to what I already opined, this was not surprising, he had it coming for the longest time. Groovy was the first housemate to leave the Big Brother Naija house yesterday. These evictions came with spice as it also meant, perhaps, the temporary end of two relationships. Bella seemed to have preferred to leave the show with her dear companion Sheggz.
Notably, eviction nights came with tension and some form of perplexity all time, but last night’s eviction was the toughest because of the pedigree of the housemates. Biggie turned the heat up with a triple eviction and the unpredictable occurred once again. Don’t forget there are two riders and six housemates left in the final week. However, only one will emerge winner of the ₦100m.
After their eventful evictions, the housemates commented about their relationships in the house. Groovy remarked that his relationship with Phyna was “a different kind of vibe” and genuine. However, this was not how they appealed to the audience as it seemed one sided; Phyna struggling to patch it and Groovy going with the vibe in the absence of a better option. Phyna continuously seemed like a compensation for love lost for Groovy, this ship might be unlikely to sail outside the show.
The braggadocio of Sheggz had viewers looking at him silly and mostly unimpressed by whatever swag he was trying to exude. The applause quickly diminished at the sound of his name. It took a really terrible individual to attract this kind of reaction from a large audience. On his relationship with Bella, he said he would be waiting for her to come home. I bet he didn’t feel good about her being in the finale since he won’t be there.
On a funny note, viewers have been clamouring for a public holiday in honour of the biggest liar on the show, Sheggz. His journey back to Ikoyi might hamper swift movement on the roads as he posed to be the most influential person in that vicinity. All these banters were in fierce ridicule of his arrogance. Meanwhile, on his constant display of toxic behaviour in his relationship, Ebuka inquired about what he would do differently to prove his love for Bella. In another moment of hubris, he said he didn’t have to prove anything to anybody.
Lastly, Hermes said he would be returning to arts and sports after his exit. However, he would be joining the big leagues since the show elevated him from the backgrounds. It is love and light from here on.
The voting portals are now open and fans are expected to vote massively for a winner to emerge. The final week is about to be lit so stay glued to your screens to catch the fun.
