About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Business Accountant to join our finance team. This role is critical in supporting day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing insights that drive business performance and strategic decision-making. You’ll play a key role in ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of all financial records
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes across departments
- Conduct variance analysis and provide commentary to management
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws, accounting standards, and internal policies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business planning and decision-making
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, and payroll processes as needed
- Assist with audits, both internal and external
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (ACCA, ICAN or equivalent preferred)
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (ICAN, ACA or equivalent preferred)
- 5+ years accounting experience (Oil & Gas sector experience required)
- Strong understanding of upstream and/or midstream financial operations
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Excel
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit
