Portable claims he was attacked by a squad of newcomer musicians asking him for a refund

Not all the roads that lead to the fast life and exclusive living of a street-hop celebrity are smooth as Habeeb ‘Portable’ Okikiola has found out. The singer found himself in a major squabble with some dreadlocks-wearing men who reportedly sought him out for a collaboration.

According to Portable through his Instagram stories and video posts spanning between Sunday to the afternoon of Monday 22 January 2024, he had just shot a video to a song he made with the group, and as soon as the shoot was over, they challenged him to return ₦3.5million that was paid to him.

Since the Enemies singer wasn’t going to be yielding to such requests, the situation degenerated into a violent clash which left him with bruises all over his face.

A slide from the IG Stories shows a spacious bedroom setting. In there was Portable with a baffled question asking “Why did you blow me?”. There were a crowd of men littered around the cover of the room and they were mostly agitated and arguing in a low tone but there were others also shouting.

Well, the singer is quickly discovering that he needs to guard himself in his motioning towards unanticipated elevation in his street-hop music career. What is on Portable’s mind right now is bringing those who perpetrated assault on him to account.

That would mean arresting up to “thirty-forty” people who attacked him in a house in Ajah, Lagos where he had been hosted throughout shooting the video. Although his depleted vision while he was being beaten by the men would not let him, he had imagined those who rough him up were substantial in number.

But for the timely arrival of the police at the scene, Portable recalled that consequences for him before the law enforcement support would have been worse.
