Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a News Editor located in Abuja. The News Editor will be responsible for overseeing and managing a team of reporters, assigning and editing news stories, ensuring the accuracy and fairness of all content, and developing editorial strategy. The News Editor will also be responsible for collaborating with other departments to ensure stories are produced and distributed efficiently.
Qualifications
- News Writing, Writing, and Journalism skills
- Editorial skills
- New Media skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in news writing/editing
- Knowledge of the Nigerian media industry is a plus
