Due to the sudden food shortage, the Big Brother Naija house became dramatic yesterday. Luckily for the level 2 housemates, they won the last wager and were not likely to be affected, unlike their counterpart who might have to share their food according to collective vote.
As the saying goes, a hungry man is an angry man. So, yielding to human survival instincts, some of the housemates started hoarding food. Now that food became scarce, the housemates were confronted with the issue of resource control. In the midst of all this ‘katakata’, Sheggz realised Hermes had some plantain hidden, and this made Sheggz to nag. Sheggz was cowardly about his complaints and didn’t say it to Hermes’ face, the latter still got pissed and his temperaments surfaced.
Following the event, Hermès admitted that he earned two plantains for sweeping and washing plates in the house. This was not without almost yelling the house down and fighting with Sheggz. Furthermore, instead of cooking in large groups for the benefit of other housemates, Mr. and Mrs. Ikoyi decided to cook as a couple and the whole house went mad.
Chizzy particularly blew hot, in his words, “you carry my wager wan cook for Bella.” I think his anger was justifiable because the former level 2 housemates worked for it. And why the heck would anyone want to cook for just two people during a shortage. Like Chizzy also mentioned, if everyone cooked in twos, they wouldn’t have any food left. Believe me when I say Bella and Sheggz were a cartel against others in the house.
More so, in the era of food shortages, Amaka almost burned the Big Brother Naija house after leaving meat pie in the microwave. Guess what she was doing? Gossip! Even the viewers and Twitter users agreed that Amaka talks too much. She did not only caused a catastrophe, but created problems between a few housemates due to too much time spent in bearing tales. However, she got a stern warning for her negligence and the punishment for the house is no microwave for one week, since they all didn’t perceive the burning smell.
In the case of Amaka’s incessant gossip, a Twitter user commented that she didn’t gossip with smart people. That is, whatever she told Chichi yesterday already spread like wildfire because Chichi was not smart. This was what happened. Amaka raised Daniella and Khalid’s “under the duvet” rendezvous to Chichi. Chichi then passed the gist to Bella, half baked. Since Amaka was coded about this info, Chichi insinuated it was the Phyna and Groovy situation. Next thing, Bella told Chomzy and the issue blew up. Amaka absolved herself from the situation as usual but she might eventually come under fire for talking needlessly.
Biggie finally issued Chichi’s punishment for her confrontation with Diana. She was to write, “I will not destroy any housemate’s property” on a 23 lined page booklet. Reminds me of my principal in secondary school.
On a lighter note, the housemates had their first merged pool party last night and it was lit. After the Guinness Smooth tasks, which they did sleepily, it was party time where all the ‘shit’ went down. We saw Phyna and Groovy had a tête-à-tête concerning the things that shouldn’t have gone down during the party. The first thing that popped in my head was, “Na wa o, e be things”. All the 18+ shaking and grinding made the ‘gbedu’ hot last night. Keep watching the show!
