Going back to 10 years ago certainly holds great significance for the crop of millennials and Gen Z Nigerians trying to get accustomed to the complicated ways of love. This is because this era represented their preparation and training when it comes to being comfortable enough to use dating apps.

The result of all these years of grooming has been pretty much mixed because some people who have been long at it are yet to feel closer to finding a partner, so in return, they are ditching the technology.

Dating apps somewhat have themselves to blame for the quick disconnect because the developers always seem to be in the perpetual process of learning on the job when it comes to guaranteeing safety for the users. That’s why singles are looking northward towards a generally organic approach like what is about to be shown.

Prospective lovers are heading off to social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, for example, which made dating apps think they should be part of the scene in the first place. Although not traditionally designed for dating, Tinder scares have made young people view them as a hybrid. With group hangouts that can just spring up out of the blue, silent singles are finding avenues nonetheless to find their LOML. They are searching for networking events and local community gatherings to put themselves out there. Every gender has its special visibility moves. These provide a backdrop for potential couples to meet and connect over shared interests and activities. Unlike restrictive dating apps, face-to-face interactions, that is, meeting a person physically beats mostly sluggish virtual talk scenarios that romancing via a phone won’t have provided.

3. Get With Fam

This is not like grooming a stage for incest or anything, it is about making a connection with a potential someone through family or friendly ties. Here is a more traditional pathway to meeting future partners and so young lovers are opening their hearts to such an opportunity. On this sort of platform, they are quicker to gain the approval of their loved ones about their interest since they recommended them in the first place.

There is no perfect recipe yet for Nigerian millennials and Gen Zers seeking love. The journey to finding love might be something there might be on for a while.

At least once again they are detaching from app-based dependence and taking in the fresh air of physical chemistry and wits. All that was the default before online dating disruptions came around and took over the slippery romance-scape.
