Burna Boy announces he will be performing at the 66th Grammys Awards in February

The singer broke his duck back in 2021 when he won the Grammys for the first time by triumphing in the Best Global Music Album -- this year he is looking for more.

With the 2024 Grammys Awards happening at the Crypto.com Arena on Sunday, 4 February looking like it is so close, the Recording Academy has been making announcements about who is going to be performing and that includes the Nigerian musician Burna Boy.

An announcement via the American broadcaster CBS’s Instagram confirmed this report early today. That was about a week after Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, and Olivia Rodrigo were listed on the performance roaster.

When Burna Boy performs at the 66th Grammy Awards, it would be the first time that he would be enjoying such an honour. Alongside him will be Travis Scott and Luke Combs. The trio are also nominees and perhaps might end up going home with an award at least.

The Nigerian musician in particular has much to look forward to following his nomination in four categories. He broke his duck back in 2021 when he won the Grammys for the first time by triumphing in the Best Global Music Album grouping for the Diddy executively produced Twice As Tall album.

Well, this year, the ‘Big 7’ singer has been presented with a much bigger chance to excel.

Burna Boy is being considered for up to four laurels, and what a feat that is.

He is in the running for the Best Global Music Album (I Told Them…), Best African Music Performance (City Boys), Best Global Music Performance (Alone), and Best Melodic Rap Performance (Sittin’ on Top of the World) award categories, which is a testament to the consistent work he has been putting in since his last Grammys’ triumph.

Judging by the anticipation on CBS’s IG, Burna’s debut is one performance to look forward to. An audience can catch this on the television channel; alternatively, they can stream live and on-demand on Paramount+ to watch him.
